The historical development of Indonesian art boom is traced back to the 1997 economic crisis and political disorder, which have fostered the growth of political art in Jogjakarta. However, it is recently criticized that the soaring price of Indonesian art does not reflect its intrinsic value. Also, the Indonesian art work is currently facing the problem of sustainability.
