This is the catalogue accompanying the solo exhibition of the Chinese photographer, Rong Rong, held at Chambers Fine Art in New York. Rong Rong documented the spontaneous happenings and art events at Beijing's East Village until it was closed down in June 1994. In the series of works for this exhibition, Rong Rong casts himself and a companion in a number of staged compositions creating a tableaux that depicts a series of events with unexpected denouements. The catalogue includes a introduction by Christophe Mao, an essay by Wu Hung and the artist's biography.
