'The unique artistic value of sketches should not be overlooked. As sketches are primarily what artists use for communicating to themselves, they can reveal the intimate depth of the inner world of the artists more so than any other art form. The visual language is more personal because sketches are rarely intended for exhibition. This exhibition, however, contains exclusively sketches. They are the work of three Hong Kong artists whose styles are widely different. These three artists have only one thing in common, and that is, they all do sketches rather frequently.'-excerpted from the
