This is the catalogue of Han Soonja's exhibition touring Japan, Korea, France, Germany and Italy. 'Han Soonja's abstract paintings with their general white tone and mainly circular forms create a tidy geometrical compostition that appears to resemble minimalist art. However, in historical and stylistic context her work possesses an originality that does not belong to minimalism...She shares the geometrical simplicity of minimal abstract art but doesn't comply with its mechanical repetitive structure based on calculated principles or systematic formulae. She prefers the white chrome as in Korean monochrome but doesn't adhere to its foundation of immateriality or oriental spiritualism and pan-naturalism.'- extracted from Kim Honghee's essay. Artist biography is provided at the back of the catalogue.
