In the preface, Zhang Peili mentions '"Dialogue" here does not refer to the conversation between [the] artist and [the] curator, the artists themselves, or even that among [the] artist and [the] audience; instead it denotes the dialogue between the artist or his work and a specific site. Although it is not the central theme of this exhibition, the notion of dialogue underscores the artists' understanding and command of a particular space.'
