This is a monograph of ink paintings by Qi Baishi, one of the most significant artists in modern Chinese art history. Trained as a carpenter, Qi learned to paint when he was at the age of twenty-seven. His paintings of insects and of shrimps and crabs were popular among collectors. The works presented here offer a glimpse of the artist's profilic body of work. With a preface by Dong Yulong.
