Featured in this video is the group exhibition 'The Fifth System: Public Art in the Age of "Post-Planning"' at Shenzhen Art Museum in December 2003. The exhibition takes its title from the 'boomtown' of Shenzhen. Curator Hou Hanru sums up: 'Looking at public art today, one is made aware that its current mutations are intimately related to the process of globalization and the restructuring of local culture.'

Participating artists include: Chen Shaoxiong, Chu Yun, Olafur Eliasson, Fu Jie, Gong Jian, Jiang Zhi, Michael Lin, Liu Chuang, Liu Wei, MVRDV, Marjetica Portc, Bert Theis, Rirkrit Tiravanija, Sha Yeya, Xu Zhen, Yan Lei, Yang Jiechang, Yang Yong, Peng Pai and Zheng Guogu.
