Catalogue of the permanent exhibition of Arpana Fine Arts Museum in the Academy of Fine Arts and Literature, New Delhi. The featured miniature paintings belong to the collection of Dr Makhan Singh Bajaj, an intellectual and spiritual man who acquired the paintings during his stay and travel in Pakistan before Partition. The collection was later passed on to Ajit Caur ji, a great benefactor of culture and an eminent Punjabi Writer. The paintings were lying in storage for many years when artist Arpana Caur, initiated to have them displayed for scholars, artists and connoisseurs. Included in the catalogue are nearly two hundred works dating form the 17th century to the 20th century with a side range of styles and genres with special emphasis on the Sikh School.
