Robert Adanto's The Rising Tide investigates China's meteoric march toward the future through the work of some of its most acclaimed photographers and video artists, who comment with intelligence, wit, foreboding and nostalgia. Interspersed throughout the documentary are interviews with artists, scholars, critics/curators and gallery directors. In Mandarin and English, with English subtitles.
