This book was published in conjunction with the group exhibition of the same title organised by the Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma, Finland in 2007.

The publication tells through essays and images about the young nations building up their new identity. Works by 14 artists reflect the contradictory situation when traditionally rich cultures are assimilating the heritage of Soviet period and hopes for a better future.'- Excerpt from the book cover.

With colour plates of works with annotation and curatorial notes.  Only the artists with Asian backgrounds are listed below.
