Chan Sicpo was born in China in 1929 and moved to Madagascar at the age of 10. He was engaged in gemstone mining industry which later became a family business. Chan is a self-taught artist, and the present publication features some of his abstract and figurative oil paintings produced during 2004-2005. Artist's biography is provided.
