The paintings showcased in this publication are the work of a thriving and energetic community of contemporary painters in the ancient city of Lhasa in Tibet. Tibet is in a state of flux and change that impacts all of its inhabitants. It is evolving away from the time of destruction and confrontation that marked the early years of Chinese control of the region and the terrible decade of the Cultural Revolution. This book aims to reflect the developments in Tibet through the works of these artists. With preface by Ian Alsop and Fabio Rossi. Brief artist biographies are included.
