This walking guide is published to accompany an art project which gives way to a special tour of the Amsterdam Water Supply Dunes that provides Amsterdam with its drinking water. The guide will take you for a pleasant walk through the dunes accompanied by text, walking journals and interviews about the experience of walking and discussion of the art of walking.

Japanese artist Toshikatsu Endo was involved in this art project where he created site-specific installations of water bubbling up from the ground, and walkers could watch how the flowing water gradually transforms into a steadily-growing transparent mass. Other foreign participating artists include Dutch artist Wapke Feenstra and African artist Meschac Gaba.
