This catalogue was published on the occasion of the solo exhibition of Wang Zhibo, 'Standing Wave' at the Edouard Malingue Gallery in Hong Kong in February 2013 and at the Armory show in New York in March 2013.

'The 13 works in Wang's Armory exhibition created in 2012 feature architectural spaces and places with frequent references to nature. In these works, Wang focuses mainly on the constructed pictorial elements that comprise her paintings using these to refer to, without copying, objects in the external world. The paintings contain representational elements but the representation are mainly, if not entirely, fictional in the sense that they are creations of the artist's imagination using pictorial elements drawn from history and the present. In this context, Wang juxtaposes architectural and sculptural elements with images of natural forms, including trees, stones and flowing water.' - from the essay 'Standing Wave' by Dr. Curtis L. Carter.
