This catalogue accompanies an exhibition held at the Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art from March to May 2012. The rapid economic growth that has occurred in Asia in recent years has brought about numerous changes and problems, resulting in greater interest in ethnic and gender-related issues, as well as debate on disparate views of history and territorial conflicts. The exhibition aims to address the question 'Where exactly is the world headed?' through the work of seven internationally-active artists whose distinctive views of the world are infused with humour and wit. Notes on works are included. Artist biographies and list of exhibits are also provided.
