Two Thai artists were chosen to represent Thailand at the 52nd Venice Biennale (June 10 to November 21, 2007). The curator of the Thai exhibition, Apisak Sonjod of Tadu Contemporary Art, came up with the title "Globalisation ...Please Slow Down." Amrit Chusuwan speaks of Being Sand as symbolic of the void of mind we can achieve after leaving the emotional engagements of the outside world (and literally our shoes) at the door to walk barefoot through his installation. Nipan Oranniwesa's City of Ghosts embodies the contemplations of a man and the space he inhabits.
