This catalogue puts together 31 artists representing Singapore art from 1940s to the present day, and have exhibited in China and Hong Kong as a cultural exchange between Singapore and the Chinese heartland.

George Yeo, the Minister for Information & the Arts points out that the arts in Singapore have of course have been heavily influenced by the arts of China. Many of our pioneer artists came from China. Many were trained in China. Many of the participating artists in this exhibition came from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore.
