In this series of paintings, entitled The Symbol Series, Xue Song overlaid traditional Chinese landscape ink paintings with crosses and arrows made up of contemporary cosumer icons such as the logo of Coca Cola and images taken from fashion magazines. According to Li Xu, this could be read as the artist's interpretation of contemporary culture in China, which is an overwhelming, confusing and comical mess.

Artist's biography is included.
