This publication serves as the catalogue of the fifth edition of Yokohama Triennale 2014, titled 'ART Fahrenheit 451: Sailing into the Sea of Oblivion', under the principal curatorial direction of Japanese artist Morimura Yasumasa.

The main title of the exhibition resonates with the dystopian science fiction Fahrenheit 451 written by Ray Bradbury in 1953, in which books are banned and burned, though there exists a resistance of the people who memorize the contents of books to avoid obliteration. Out of this association Morimura derived the overarching theme for the exhibition: that of memory, remembrance, and forgetting. He postulated the idea of 'the sea of oblivion', an imaginative conceptual space, outside of oneself, upon which one can sail to find their forgotten memories.

Structurally he divided the museum space into two introductions and eleven chapters, a layout that reminisces the book. Along with this narrative line, each chapter presents works of art that explore different themes out of 'oblivion'.

Includes overview of education, screening and other subsidiary programmes.
