Photologue | After New Year

Bangkok, May-June 2008

Recently, the contemporary art scene in Bangkok has been rather subdued, as if still suffering from an extended hangover since Thai New Year Festival in April. However, several notable international/inter-regional group shows/events portraying cross-cultural relations and experiences have taken place recently. The three profiled here are ‘Tomyam Pladib’ at The Jim Thompson Art Center (19 March–15 July); ‘All Our Everydays’ at VER Gallery (22 May–6 July); and ‘Month of Photography’ at The Queen’s Gallery, Silom Galleria and Tang Gallery (8 June–8 July).
