AAA is pleased to a four-part talk series focusing on contemporary art in South Asia, sponsored by Christie’s and Bloomberg. An introduction to contemporary art practice in the region will be presented from four different perspectives: that of a collector, an academic, a curator and an artist.

The first of our speakers, Anupam Poddar, took over the reigns of his mother’s collection of modern art in 2000 when he began adding to the collection works by India’s younger generation of artists. Their collection of Indian art dating back to the 1970s is now considered to be one of the most prolific in the world and will be made accessible to the public with the opening of the Devi Art Foundation this year.
