An exhibition showcasing works created during Kith Tsang’s residency at Asia Art Archive.

Since his student days, Kith Tsang has maintained a habit of keeping a visual diary. He documents his observations and life experiences in sketchbooks through collage, sketching, and watercolours. During his residency, Tsang browsed AAA’s Hong Kong collections, reflecting on his previous works, while searching for documentation related to memorable people and events. The watercolour paintings in this exhibition reinterpret selected archival records that impacted Tsang’s own art practice and even Hong Kong art histories as a whole, showcasing both his reflections on and understanding of history.

Kith Tsang Tak Ping is an educator and farmer, working across art education, practice, curation, research, and criticism. Tsang has exhibited internationally, including at the 4th Gwangju Biennale, and the 50th and 54th Venice Biennales. He was Associate Professor at Hong Kong Polytechnic University’s School of Design for twenty-four years.
