Colloquium and Closed-door Workshop III
In collaboration with: The Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute, and supported by a grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation
In September 2013, Asia Art Archive convened a two-day colloquium and workshop in collaboration with The Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute, a leading research institute in the field of art history. This closed-door workshop was the third in a series of such events in 2013 to share emerging results from AAA’s Bibliography Project in India, and inform AAA's research towards a publication initiative dedicated to the history of writing on 20th century visual art in India. The colloquium and workshop provided a rare opportunity to bring together scholars who teach South Asian Art History in various universities in North America, Australia, and India. It was structured around a series of papers, panel discussions, and workshop presentations, and served as a platform to think further about what the bibliography can enable for the field, and refine the objectives and parameters of the publications initiative.
