The conversion of heritage sites into culture and arts venues in Hong Kong to showcase local artistic talent has never been more topical. From the Cattle Depot Artist Village, Hong Kong Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre, Central Police Station, Hollywood Road Married Police Quarters to the North Kowloon Magistracy. While many would agree that Hong Kong lacks suitable art spaces, the debate fundamentally needs to focus on content over hardware, diversity over single formula approach. In this panel we ask participants to consider the success of existing sites, their position in shaping the arts and cultural discourse and the use of heritage sites as art venues.
