Kim Kanatani is the first Gail Engelberg Director of Education of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. Kanatani also directs the Sackler Center for Arts Education of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. Exploration and experimentation with new technologies are the Centre's hallmark, enabling the museum to broaden and enrich its educational programs for adults, youth and families. Artists, as well as, cultural and academic institutions are actively involved as valued collaborative partners. Prior to joining the Guggenheim in 2001, Kanatani was the Director of Education at The Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), Los Angeles, which she joined in 1985.

This public talk is being held in conjunction with the Professional Certificate in Visual Arts Management and Professional Certificate in Curatorship of The Art School of the Hong Kong Arts Centre which includes workshops being conducted by senior Guggenheim staff and classes run by local professionals in the field, commissioned by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council.
