The Artist's Studio: Rashid Rana

 

RASHID RANA has emerged as a leading figure among Pakistan's younger artists. His work uses iconographic images to address issues of faith and popular culture, and incorporate a social/political commentary and parody. Educated at the National College of Art, Lahore, Rana earned his MA from the Massachusetts College of Art, Boston. Born in Pakistan, he now divides his time between Toronto and Lahore, where he is on the Faculty at the School of Visual Arts, Beaconhouse National University.
