15 Invitations for 15 Years

A special programme series featuring exhibitions, projects, written works, performances, a blog, and set of e-dossiers marking Asia Art Archive's 15-year anniversary.

Talking Archive is a project developed by Hong Kong-based artist Wong Wai Yin around a psychic medium and animal communicator who talks to objects and spaces. Wong invites the medium to speak to various sites within Asia Art Archive and its collection in order to uncover their "true opinions." The medium directs questions to various AAA materials to include: as a historical document, how do you think history should be invented? As one of the oldest documents in AAA's collection, what do you think is the most valuable accomplishment by the organisation in the last 15 years?

The findings will be presented at AAA Library in the form of a video and site-specific installation. A complementary exhibition by Wong Wai Yin Without Trying continues at Hong Kong's Spring Workshop through Sunday, 23 October.

Wong Wai Yin is an artist who lives and works in Hong Kong. Her solo exhibitions include "But is it Art?" "I know but I don't know." (2013), Hong Kong; From Wong Wai Yin’s Collection to the Hong Kong Art Archive (2011), Hong Kong; and L'Écume des choses (2009), Observation Society, Guangzhou.
