From Representable Object to Representing Subject: Women in the Modern and Contemporary Art of India

WATCH: Providing a background of representation of women in visual culture in India since the 19th Century and the Women's Movement in the 1970s, this talk traces the emergence of a feminist subjectivity in the arts of India.

AAA relies on your generous support to grow, activate, and make freely accessible our collection of materials on art in Asia. We would be deeply appreciative if you would consider making a small donation to our 2021 Annual Fundraiser, ending on 29 Oct.
