An exhibition at the Hong Kong Museum of Art titled ‘New Ink Art: Innovation and Beyond,’ which ran from August to October 2008, showcases both traditional and contemporary ink art. It contains a segment entitled Is it Ink Art? that shows works made from gunpowder on paper by Cai Guoqiang, among others, which has been controversial. The other five sections are The Innovators, Beyond Tradition, Evolving City Life, Transformed Text, and New Frontier. Curator Alice King, the head of Ink Society Hong Kong, is also interviewed.
