Works Presented at 100% Idiot Proof

Exhibition '100% Idiot Proof' curated by Roberto Chabet at West Gallery in 1998. Shown in the photo are the following works (from left to right): Paul Mondok's Im Sorry I Did Not Get My Report Done Ma'am, Manny Migrino's Please Refer To The Visual, and Poklong Anading's Line Drawing.

The exhibition included the works of seven students of Chabet at the University of the Philippines College of Fine Arts (UP CFA): Mon Amper, Poklong Anading, Mafe Baluyos, Mario Collantes, Manny Migrino, Paul Mondok, and Howard Ortaleza.

Chabet wrote in the press release, 'The seven large-scale works in the exhibit are all concept-based, media-informed and process-oriented. They explore the self-reflexiveness of artistic practise in the '90s, redefines painting and sculpture not as discrete, static, passive objects but as embodied organic systems possessing a self-awareness of their own processes and materiality. These are works that respond to the contingencies of time, site and the interventions of the viewer's presence.'
