This section contains materials related to the exhibition ‘Maps for an Invisible World’, a solo exhibition of Maritta Nurmi took place from 8 to 25 April 2000. The concept of the exhibition stems from ‘nuybu’, a Buddhist practice referring to the action of going to the mountains in order to understand oneself and to restore one’s connections with the Gods. Although not a Buddhist herself, Nurmi attempts to climb up her own mountains to be with the Gods in order to understand the true nature of life and of self through her meditative artworks.
