Published following an exhibition at the Bengal Gallery of Fine Arts in 2001, this monograph traces the artistic development of Aminul Islam by presenting a selection of his drawings and art writings spanning over a period of fifty years. He is known for being part of a pioneering generation of painters in Bangladesh who embraced modernism in the mid-fifties and early sixties. The drawings are arranged chronologically, in decades. The writings are grouped under three parts: the first focuses on drawing; the other two consist of catalogue statements and miscellaneous art writings. Includes artist biography.
