Launched in 2003, City_net Asia is a biannual exhibition featuring 4 participating cities in the Asian region. Kanazawa (The 21st Century Contemporary Art Museum), Bangkok (Jim Thompson Art Center), Jakarta (ruangrupa), and Seoul (Seoul Museum of Art) were selected for the fifth edition, which deals with the theme of disaster and catastrophe. The exhibition examines the present situation in Asia from a dystopian perspective while attempting to discover new potential. Texts accompanying the images of artwork are provided at the back of the catalogue. Artist biographies are included.
