Facing the challenges from the financial crisis, the art world reacted with dynamism and optimism in 1980s and 1990s. With the rise of art market and the happenings of historical events, different countries and cities have developed their own style. The article compares art from Hong Kong, Singapore and other Southeast Asian countries. At the end, it promotes an art exhibition, 'l’Art dans le monde 2000 (Art in the World of 2000)', which aims to facilitate inter-cultural communication.
