The CAFE (Communicable Action for Everybody) in Mito Exhibition is a project that aims to create a place of exchange, like a cafe, where people can get together in a relaxed fashion through the medium of art. The artworks displayed in this exhibition will not merely be hung in the gallery for viewing, but will also be installed throughout the city of Mito, in hope to bring art to a wider audience.

With 'communication' as the theme, many of the artworks are not only visual but also touchable and audible. The exhibition also tries to connect the museum with the local community by employing numerous volunteer staff from the vicinities to support the exhibition. Images of works in the catalogue are accompanied by individual texts. Preface by Eriko Osaka. With artist biographies and responses from audience.
