Cai Jin has once said, ‘I am infatuated by red colour, when surrounded by it, my strokes become sensitive. I need this feeling, it motivates my emotions, as if it were something unattainable.’ The artist’s fascination with red is demonstrated in the more recent works presented in this exhibition catalogue, in which Cai Jin has taken to paint not only on canvas but also on soft and shiny domestic objects, those which are in close contact with the human body, such as bicycles, mattresses, cushions and padded slippers. A biography of the artist is included.
蔡錦曾說過，她深深地為紅色而着迷，在紅色的包圍之下，她的筆觸會變得異常敏銳。這種感覺激發了她的情感，一種「似乎存在但又永遠抓不着」的感覺。就本圖錄選載的近作而言，蔡錦對紅色鍾愛依然；但她不再局限於畫布，轉而在柔軟光亮的日常用品上作畫，尤其是與人體有肌膚接觸的物品，如自行車、床褥、坐墊和厚墊拖鞋等。本圖錄亦載有藝術家的簡歷。
