The Xi'an Qujiang International Contemporary Art Festival was held from August to October 2009, in one of the world's four largest ancient capitals. 'China Revisualized' refers to Xi'an as a symbol of China's traditional visual culture in a contemporary setting while the title 'The Banner of Urban Culture' highlights the efforts of the city to become a national leader in developing creative talent. It has five main sections: Image & Digital Art, Performance & Live Art, Painting, Sculpture, Installation and Object, and Performing Arts, with over 100 artists from 20 countries and areas taking part. This catalogue is part of a series published in conjunction with the festival and features photo documentation of past performance works by participating artists. The CVs of select artists are included.
Other participating artists: Meli Eijo, Martin Molinaro, Lilia Scheerder, Judith Egger, Doreen Uhlig, Mirko Winkel, Pascale Grau, Alan Schacher, Lennie Lee, Adam Geczy, Kira O'Reilly, Gerard Altaio, Richard De Domenici and Anthony Roberts.
