An exhibition bringing together the works of 40 artists from cities all over the world, from Beijing to Seoul, Kuala Lumpur to Sydney, and Germany to India. The title of the exhibition is taken from a speech by Mao Zedong, in which he deals with European-North American modernity and underlines, that this modernity still sees itself as the "centre" and the cultures of the Orient, Asia and Africa, as well as, Oceania and Latin America, as the "rest of the world".
The exhibition was organised by curator and gallery owner, Alexander Ochs, together with Neuffer am Park. Included is an interview by Peter Herbstreuth with Alexander Ochs. Short texts accompany individual artists' bios at the back of the catalogue.
