This is a book on one of Vietnam's foremost lacquer artists, Dinh Quan presented by Thavibu Gallery. It features works of Dinh Quan from 1994 to 2004. The art of lacquer painting is an important Vietnamese contribution to the global contemporary art scene. Dinh Quan uses lacquer paintings in an innovative way in terms of texture, movement and substances. He is the first lacquer painter who has created truly dynamic lacquer paintings where the actions of the subject matter, often female bodies, tend to move towards abstraction.

Articles on the art of Trinh Tuan by art critics/art historians/curators are included. An article on the process of making lacquer paintings with contributions from Dinh Quan, Trinh Tuan, Jorn Middelborg and Kita Production can be found. Colour plates and chronology included.
