The publication is produced on the occasion of the group exhibition of the same title held in Korean Cultural Centers in Asian and European countries from November to December 2014.
'Dansaekhwehwa' represents the Korean Art heritage, history and aesthetics. The monochrome style of contemporary Korean art is similar to the US and European minimalist paintings of the 1960s. Artists pursue the pure reality and look for essence of objects. The Korean also share the common aspects of the transformation of the traditional perspective on the nature and the legacy of tradition and its creative transition. The structuring of the flat surface, the neutralization, relationships, originality, spirituality, identification and integration of materiality and painting is based on the modest and restrained attitude of the Korean tradition.
