Since the early 1990s, Feng Mengbo has worked at the intersection between painting and digital medium, with CD-ROMs (My Private Album, 1997), and video game formats (Taking Mt. Doom by Strategy, 1997). Incorporating travesties of political propaganda (Game Over, My Private Album), Feng combines various cultural influences from video games to icons from China's Cultural Revolution and Hong Kong action cinema into a universal iconography of the everyday. This is the catalogue for the solo exhibition of Feng Mengbo at Hanart Gallery in 1994, featuring the ‘Game Over: Long March’ series and the ‘Taxi! Taxi! – Mao Zedong III’ series. Essays written by Linda Jaivin and Li Xianting (in Chinese only) which discuss the art of Feng Mengbo are included.
