In a specially designed and hand-finished folder, this limited edition artist book by Fiona Tan consists of two individually bound volumes.

"'Marebito' is an archaic Japanese word. It can be translated into English as 'foreigner', 'strange', 'visitor', 'a marginal figure' or 'person from beyond the boundaries'. It was a name given to travelers such as roaming craftsman, but also to vagabonds and homeless beggars. Marebito was the stranger from outside - possibly sacred or god-like - who was the bearer of good luck or bad fortune."

Edition no. 58/500.
