'Han-River-Rhine is one of the annual international exchange exhibitions organized by SSamzie Space. Following the first exhibition with New York artists, and the second with Parisian artists, this year's international exchange exhibition is held with the Dusseldorf women artist group, Gruppe 7NRW. This series is different from ordinary international exhibitions in that they provide Korean and foreign artists with opportunities to make direct contact with each other instead of merely gathering art works in one place. This program is an international artist exchange that introduces the synergy of creativity and aspiration through encounter and communication between the artists of different countries by sharing information, exchanging dialogues, and in the process finding common ground.' - excerpted from introduction by Kim Hong-hee, director of SSamzie Space.
Images of works are accompanied by individual texts. With artist biographies, short documentation of artist meetings, seminars, workshops and visits to gallery districts in Korea and Germany. Also included in the catalogue are reviews of the exhibition. 14 female artists from Korea and Germany took part in Han-River-Rhine in 2003, and the catalogue was published in 2004.
