Huang Yongping's work 'Bat Project II' is presented in 'Z.O.U. Zone of Urgency', an exhibition curated by Hou Hanru for 'Dreams and Conflicts The Dictatorship of the Viewer' at the 50th Venice Biennale. The presentation and the catalogue of Huang Yongping's work were entirely realised with the sponsorship of Guy & Myriam Ullens Foundation, Switzerland.
The present catalogue provides detailed accounts of Huang's Bat Projects, which are replicas of the American EP-3 spy plane that had collided with a Chinese fight jet over the South China Sea in 2001, and the sanction of the projects at the Fourth International Shenshen Sculpture Exhibition (2001) and the First Guangzhou Triennial (2002) respectively.
