This article is about how museums and the art world itself are dealing with new forms of art, especially those regarding organic and decaying materials. Museums have had to develop protocol about impermanent art and there are questions about the ethical boundaries of art, especially regarding DNA manipulation. Technology components are also mentioned, as they are difficult to fix when they become obselete: the article uses the example of Nam June Paik's Quasar TV screens, which have begun to blow out and can no longer be found.
