This is the catalogue for the Taiwan Pavilion at the 48th Venice Biennale, showcasing art works by three artists: Chen Chiehjen created computer-manipulated black and white photos about cruelty and human nature; Hung Tunglu mixed and made use of images and objects borrowed from different cultural contexts; and Huang Buhching brought forward a continuous interchange of new formal and visual possibilities between the world of nature and that of art through the use of different means of expression.
Essays written on the art of the three participants and the development of art in Taiwan during the 1990s are included, as well as biographies of the artists.
