Maekawa Takayuki is a nature photographer (b. 1969) who found his calling after he worked in the computer industry for several years. In 1997 he became an assistant to Tanaka Kojo, one of Japan's pioneers of wildlife photography. Since 2000, Maekawa has been working freelance, busily photographing animals in the wild in Canada, Alaska and Japan. In February of 2007, he published his first major collection, Bear World.
