The present exhibition features works by Luo Qi, a leading proponent of a modern calligraphy movement known as calligraphyism. As defined by Zhang Yiguo, 'Calligraphyism seeks to alter the basic structure of the characters themselves, to the point that they can no longer be read as writing. Calligraphy in this sense becomes pure art.' The catalogue includes artist biography and aritcle by Lars Berglund.
