Published in conjunction with the exhibition 'Michael Lin: A Modest Veil' at the Vancouver Art Gallery, Vancouver from January to May 2010, this catalogue is the first survey of the artist's career. Michael Lin is known for ambitious installations that reconfigure public spaces and pre-existing architectural structures. Using floral patterns based on traditional Taiwanese textiles and decorative arts, his work has covered the walls, floors, windows or furniture of a variety of spaces, creating a playful and nontraditional encounter with art. For this commission, he conceived a massive hand-painted mural veiling the Gallery facade and a book-wrapping project for the Gallery Store.

With essays by Nicolas Bourriaud, Bruce Grenville, Hou Hanru, Vivian Rehberg and Annette Tietenberg. Selected chronology of the artist included.
