MAAP is a new media art centre started by the Brisbane-based Media Art Center and founded in Brisbane, Australia in 1997. Through 5 years, MAAP has grown into one of the leading multimedia art exhibitions in the Asia Pacific Regions, covering 14 countries in the region. MAAP specialises in showcasing the artistic experiments in a wide range of art forms and practices including interactive multimedia, Internet, digital video and animation.

The present catalogue was produced for one of MAAP's exhibition, which was held in Beijing, China, bringing together works by individual artists and art groups from Australia and a number of Asian countries.

With prefaces by Zhang Yu (Director of the China International Exhibition Agency), Wang Jianqi (Director of The Art Museum of China Millennium Monument) and Pan Gongkai (Chancellor of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing). Brief biographies of artists and art organisations are provided.
